A 46-year-old man has been arrested for numerous charges including a break and enter to City Furniture that occurred Jan. 28 at 6 PM.
Police were called to an alarm at City Furniture on Lakelse Ave shortly before 6 PM Jan. 28. Within minutes police were on scene and observed that entry was gained through the damaged front door.
Meanwhile, police were attempting to check a man on Lakelse Ave. This man fled. Another police officer in the area heard the unfolding events and observed the man running.
This police officer followed him and found him hiding beneath a flight of stairs on Park Ave. The man was intoxicated and arrested for breaching his probation condition of no consume alcohol.
The investigation at City Furniture was unfolding and police observed surveillance video which showed a man matching the description of the man recently arrested. His backpack was searched and break and enter tools were found. Possession of these tools was in contravention of his current probation order.
Communication and teamwork were key to an arrest being made in this crime. There were five RCMP members involved in this investigation simultaneously. Each one had a crucial piece of the puzzle to contribute resulting in a quick arrest,

The man is held for court. Police have forwarded charges to Crown Counsel of break and enter, two breaches of probation, and possession of break and enter tools.
