Man attacks another man with axe

They get into dispute over fishing when a couple casts their lines too close to the first man's in rural area near Terrace.

TERRACE RCMP have responded to approximately 43 calls for service from June 19, 8 a.m. till June 20, 8 a.m.

During the same time period, there were six people lodged in Terrace Cells. Four of these people were lodged for public intoxication.

Downtown Terrace

intoxicated man passed out in an alcove at Emerson St./Lakelse Ave. Police arrested a 49-year-old man for public intoxication.

intoxicated man passed out in the band shell at George Little Park. Police arrested a 23-year-old man for public intoxication.

intoxicated man at the Skeena Mall. Police arrested a 45-year-old man for public intoxication.

a 55-year-old man was inside of Safeway when he is banned from the store. He left prior to police attendance. Police conducted checks of the area.

man sitting inside of the TD Bank by the cash terminal playing loud music and bothering customers. Police spoke with the 33-year-old man who stated that he was charging his cell phone. Police directed the man out.

man prowling around the Bear Country Inn picking up cigarette butts. When asked to leave, he shoved the employee then fled the area. Police did checks of the area.

group of intoxicated people hanging around a business on Lakelse Ave. A 45-year-old man was arrested for public intoxication.

Elsewhere Terrace

a black and red wallet with the logo Slayer on it containing various ID and cards was lost.

a woman requested police assistance with separation issues.

assist New Aiyansh RCMP with service of documents.

assist Fort Saskatchewan RCMP with an investigation.

a bright yellow 50's style woman's bike with a black basket in the front was stolen from the Park Avenue Medical Clinic. It was locked up to the bike rack and the lock was cut.

drug information was received.

a vehicle with insufficient tread on its tires. Police located the vehicle parked on Lazelle Ave. and the tires were fine.

break and enter to a residence on Sparks St. Medication and money were stolen.

domestic dispute. Police spoke with the people involved. An offence was not committed.

harassment complaint. Police spoke with the people involved and gave advice on the matter.

a man ran at a vehicle driving on Halliwell Ave. then started to chase it. Police located a 49-year-old man matching the description in the area and spoke with him.

a 22-year-old man not welcome at the shelter on Hall St. is harassing the staff and repeatedly ringing the door bell. He left on his own accord when he was advised that the police were called. Checks were done of the area.

a medium sized black dog running around on Hwy 16 near Ferry Island.

a man causing a disturbance at the Kalum Hotel. Police arrested an intoxicated 35-year-old man. He was on conditions out of Manitoba.

an intoxicated man yelling inside of a residence on Hanson St. Police arrested a 23-year-old man.

landlord/tenant issues. Police spoke with the people involved and gave advice on the matter.

two men and one woman hitting and walking on top of parked vehicles on Walsh Ave. Police observed several garbage cans knocked over but no persons were located in the street.

a woman told a person that she was hit by a car.

two intoxicated women fighting on Tetrault St. Checks were done of the area.

a young person was heard to say stop mommy inside of a black truck on Haugland Ave. Checks were done of the area.

assist CN police with a train jumper on board of a train coming in to Apsley St./Greig Ave.

a 10 speed bike was found in the backyard of a residence on Sparks St.

Thornhill

erratic driver in a tan/grey Chevrolet Silverado. Police spoke with the registered owner who had a completely opposite version of the events.

abandoned vehicle on Maple St. Police spoke with the owner of the vehicle.

domestic assault. A 46-year-old man assaulted a 37-year-old woman. Police arrested the man for assault and breaching two conditions of a recognizance of bail, a no contact and a no consume alcohol outside of his residence. He also had two outstanding warrants. He is held for court.

a semi trailer blocking traffic on the south side of the old Bridge. It was gone prior to police attendance.

Rural

harassment complaint. Police spoke with a woman and gave advice.

a stiletto knife was seized by Airport Security from a 30-year-old woman.

fishing dispute. A 66-year-old man was fishing off a bridge on Whitebottom Rd. Another man and woman showed up and cast their lines over top of his. This led to a verbal argument which escalated to physical confrontation. The second man retrieved an axe and attacked the 66-year-old man, who grabbed a chair to defend himself. Several other people in the area told the second man to leave. He entered his vehicle and drove away in an aggressive manner.

a 303 gun was lost.

a brown wallet was found while excavating on Park Ave. It is very old and to be returned to its owner.

a man was observed walking on Hwy 16 east of Terrace. Police spoke with the 55-year-old man who wanted to go to Prince George. Police took the man back to Terrace and spoke with him about other ways to get to Prince George.
