Terrace RCMP are seeking the public’s help in identifying a vehicle that reportedly looked like a taxi and attempted to pick up a child last week.

According to an RCMP media release, a child reported to police that a man in yellow vehicle with the number 44 on the side attempted to pick him up while he was waiting outside his elementary school on Dec. 2. The boy did not obtain the licence plate number.

Although the vehicle did resemble a taxi cab, no taxi companies in Terrace or neighbouring cities use yellow vehicles.

Police are asking the public to help identify the vehicle, despite the fact that no offences have been committed. RCMP say that anyone that has information about the vehicle or comes across one that matches the description should not engage with the vehicle or its occupants and instead call the Terrace detachment at 250-638-7400 or report it anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
