Hit and run driver has come forward

Driver of pickup originally fled scene of accident in Terrace, B.C.

TERRACE RCMP now say the driver of a vehicle involved in a hit and run the evening of Jan. 25 has come forward.

Earlier RCMP information indicated that at approximately 6 p.m. on Jan. 25, a silver Toyota pickup struck a grey 2008 Pontiac G5 on Kalum Street/Keith Ave. then fled without stopping.

The Pontiac was stopped on Kalum St. waiting to turn west onto Keith Ave. The Toyota pickup approached on Keith from the west, made a right turn onto Kalum, and swung too wide in the turn.

The front driver side fender of the Toyota struck the front driver's side fender of the Pontiac.

The Toyota driver continued driving and left the scene.

The Pontiac sustained thousands of dollars in damage and was towed.

“Thank you for the public's assistance in this investigation,” a brief release from the Terrace RCMP detachment stated this morning.
