Figure skaters from the Terrace Skating Club came away with medals and a good showing at the Dec. 2 to Dec. 4 Kla How Ya competition held in Prince Rupert Dec. 2 to Dec. 4.
“This was the first competition for some of our figure skaters and the second in person competition in the northwest since Covid halted in-person events,” said club skating director Joanne Bartlett.
Kla How Ya means ‘hello’ in the Chinook trading language that connected the diverse peoples of the northwestern portion of North America.
The locals were up against skaters from host city Prince Rupert, Kitimat, Smithers, northeastern B.C. and south to Quesnel.
