Ferry Island campground in Terrace is now open to visitors from around the country.
“Based on the latest recommendations from the provincial government, the City of Terrace will move to the next step in re-opening the Ferry Island campground,” said a City of Terrace Leisure Services news bulletin.
“Smart, safe and respectful travel is now permitted in B.C., so Ferry Island campground is now open for all Canadian residents.”
Reserving sites for others is not permitted and identification is required upon arrival. Only one self-contained unit is allowed per site. That includes motor-homes, tents and trailers.
Washrooms will be open for campers only and will be frequently disinfected along with water taps and garbage can lids. Picnic tables are wiped down after each check out.
Campers must maintain two-metre physical distancing from other guests who are not from the same household or in the same COVID-19 ‘bubble.’
