THE FAMILY of one of the missing mushroom pickers missing since Sunday night is asking anyone who wants to help with the search to meet at the Terrace search and rescue office first thing tomorrow morning.
In a plea on social media late today, Ashley Murray, a sister of Ike Murray who is missing along with Michael Devlin Sabo, is also asking that people be properly prepared.
"You need to be prepared, good clothes and boots for walking. You need food, and need to be capable, it's an all day event," the post continued.
The local search and rescue office is on Greig Ave., right across the street from the Skeena Liquor Store and the meeting time is 7:30 a.m.
The plea follows a release from the RCMP saying that more searchers are needed and to call the local search and rescue office at 250-635-4669 and to leave a message.
People are advised not to go out searching alone.
About 14 people were out searching an area east of Terrace along the Skeena River today. A RCMP helicopter is also involved in the search.
Terrace RCMP officer Constable Angela Rabut said there's been “absolutely no sign” of the two men.
Murray, 26, and Sabo, 32, and another man set off by boat the morning of Sept. 22 to pick mushrooms in the area of Lorne Creek east of Terrace along the Skeena River.
The two set off together and failed to return to the boat at a set time later that day.
The third man returned to town and reported the pair missing, setting off a search which began the morning of Sept. 23.
The area is described as dense with steep hills.
Searchers are looking at everything, including all bodies of water, for the two men.
