An Iskut man has been charged in relation to a two-vehicle crash that sent a woman and two kids to the hospital Sept. 21.

Donald Kinney, age 29, faces several charges, including operating a motor vehicle while impaired and while exceeding 80 mg of alcohol per 100 ml of blood.

Around 9:30 p.m. Sept. 21, while travelling to a report of an impaired driver in a red Ford pickup truck, police were called to a two-vehicle crash on Hwy 16 near Kalum Motel involving a truck of the same description and a Honda Odyssey van.

Police arrived on scene and found all occupants out of their vehicles: a woman and two children from the van, and a man who was the driver and sole occupant of the truck. The head-on, off-centre collision involved about 40 per cent of each vehicle’s front end.

The women and children were taken to hospital with minor injuries and later released. The man was medically cleared, arrested, and taken to cells.
