Don't drive drunk to police station

Man given licence suspension by police in Terrace, BC

A 21 year old man received an immediate roadside suspension when he drove to the RCMP detachment drunk on Thanksgiving Monday, October 8.

Police say an RCMP member detected the smell of alcohol emitting from a person while speaking with him at the front counter of the detachment. The person admitted that he had been drinking the night before. It was now noon.

The man exited the detachment and then proceeded to get into the driver’s seat of a green 1997 Jeep Cherokee and attempt to drive away. Police pulled the vehicle over.

Police say the driver failed a roadside screening device, twice. He was issued an immediate roadside suspension and the vehicle he was driving was impounded.
