Donald Hill walkway from Bailey St. on the Bench to the base of Lanfear Hill will be temporarily closed due to ice buildup.

The City of Terrace said that current conditions are making it challenging to sand this slope and until ice buildup is reduced, making it safe for users, it will be closed.

After days of icy road conditions brought about by freezing rain and the Artic outflow, the city also said ice blading was underway to break up ice to help it melt faster.

Earlier today (Jan. 14), the city said the operators were instructed to smooth driving conditions and remove ice wherever possible but to avoid filling driveways with excess blocks of ice.

The public was also advised to exercise caution while driving as potholes surface during the ice removal process. The city said that crews were out opening drains in advance of the forecasted rainfall and filling potholes as they become visible.
