TERRACE RCMP responded to approximately 36 calls for service from February 20, 8 a.m. till February 21, 8 a.m. During the same time period, there five people lodged in Terrace Cells. Four of these people were lodged for public intoxication.
Downtown Terrace
a man wanted to return a truck to a dealership that was gifted to him. The woman who gave the man the truck did not want him to do this. Police spoke with everyone involved and everyone agreed on a solution to this issue.
Save On Foods employee arrested a 59-year-old woman for shoplifting. She is banned from the store.
a shed on Lazelle Ave was broken into. Nothing was taken.
police assisted BC Ambulance with a 66-year-old man at the Coast.
suspicious occurrence in the Skeena Mall parking lot.
police observed a 71-year-old man drinking alcohol across from the Spirit Night club. The alcohol was dumped out and he was warned to go inside. A short while later police observed the man sitting back in the same spot with another bottle of alcohol. He was arrested for public intoxication.
a man driving around in a Jeep Patriot on Lakelse Ave. with a child in a snuggly on his chest. Checks were done of the area.
shoplifter at the Coast Liquor Store. Police arrested a 32-year-old man matching the description provided a short distance away. A bottle of liquor was found on his person. He is banned from the store.
intoxicated man stumbling down Lakelse Ave. Police arrested a 50-year-old man. He attempted to kick the police officer arresting him.
Elsewhere Terrace
a burgundy Pontiac Grand Am on Hwy 16 west and Keith Ave. with a possible impaired driver. Checks were done of the area.
an intoxicated 33-year-old woman refusing to leave a residence on Davis Ave. She left prior to police attendance.
police assisted a woman to gather personal belongings from a residence.
a woman banging on windows and causing problems for staff at Mills Memorial Hospital. She then uttered threats to a staff person. Under investigation.
a man was upset that his ex-landlord sent his mail back to the post office.
an intoxicated man blocking the entrance to the Soup Kitchen on Sparks St. Police arrested a 45-year-old man for public intoxication.
a woman is having separation issues with her boyfriend. Police gave advice on the matter.
domestic dispute. A 45-year-old man was transported to alternate lodgings for the night.
indecent photo circulating on Facebook that was taken a year ago. The photo was taken on a cell phone that was not password locked and ended up being lost. Police gave advice on the matter.
intoxicated 56-year-old man passed out at the Terrace Public Library. Police liaised with a worker from the TDCSS who was able to get the man picked up by a family member.
Unsafe situation. A vehicle up on wooden blocks on Scott Ave. Police spoke with the owner of the vehicle and gave advice on the matter.
an incident involving a knife and two boys. Police are investigating the manner.
a person buzzed a person into a building on Kalum St. without asking who it was and is now concerned about who he let in.
domestic dispute in a parking lot on Little Ave. Police spoke with a man and woman. They agreed to separate for the night.
Thornhill
a blue 1988 Ford Ranger was observed by police parked outside of a business on Crescent St. When police drove by a little while later the blue truck was now in the ditch opposite to where it was parked before. Two intoxicated passengers stated that the driver had left to get a second vehicle to pull the truck out. Police waited and the driver returned with a second vehicle. The 21-year-old man blew a warn on a roadside screening device. He was given a driving suspension. The Ranger was towed.
Rural
police received a call from a three-year-old boy who could not wake his mother. A lengthy discussion of various topics did not enlighten police on the boy's name nor location. His mother finally came on the phone. Creston RCMP were asked to check up on the family.
a woman reported that a person keeps breaking into her residence when she leaves. Police made attendance at her residence and have requested the assistance of Northern Mental Health with the matter.
a dog was dog napped. Police spoke with the dog nappers who agreed to give the dog back to the rightful owner. The dog did not want to leave. Police managed to convince the dog using persuasive techniques that included charm and stale Wonder Bread to leave the residence with the police and be reunited with its owner.

custody dispute. Police gave advice on the matter.
a man acting in a suspicious manner in the Airport terminal building. Police spoke with the 35-year-old man and apprehended him under the Mental Health Act. He was transported to Mills Memorial Hospital.
a man was observed drinking a beer while driving a blue 1995 Dodge Caravan. Police located the van at the residence of the 54-year-old man and spoke with him.
abandoned 911 call.
a vehicle that was stolen out of Moricetown was recovered by a man at the Mills Memorial Hospital parking lot. There were numerous inconsistencies with what the people involved were telling the police. Police released the vehicle to the registered owner.
Gitaus
an aggressive black and white dog mauled another dog to death.
two calls were received of an intoxicated man causing problems at a residence. He locked himself in a room with a knife. Police located the 34-year-old man at another residence and arrested him. A knife was taken from his back pocket.
