Conservative leader coming to Terrace

John Cummins to tour Northwest Community College as well

BC Conservative leader John Cummins is coming to Terrace next week as part of northwest tour.

He arrives here Dec. 3 and then heads to Smithers right away to Smithers to tour Hy-Tech Drilling Ltd. Starting with a single drill in 1991 by Harvey Tremblay, Hy-Tech now has 30 rigs operating across Canada, with affiliates working throughout Europe.

Later in the day, Cummins will attend a reception with local dignitaries, business leaders and members of the BC Conservative Party. The event will be hosted by Dennis MacKay, the former two-two term BC Liberal MLA for Bulkley Valley-Stikine.

On Dec. 4 the BC Conservative leader will travel to Kitimat where he'll receive a tour of UA Piping Industry College and meet with students before visiting other local businesses.

Later he'll attend a late afternoon reception with local dignitaries, business leaders, and members and supporters of the BC Conservative Party. The event will be held at the Best Western Inn in Terrace.

Cummins then drives to Prince Rupert on Dec. 5 to tour a number of industrial and business operations, and participate in a mid-day coffee meeting with local supporters before returning to Terrace.

On Dec. 6, Cummins will tour the main Northwest Community College campus in Terrace.

At lunch he will be the featured speaker at a luncheon at the Northern Motor Inn. The event will be hosted by Mike Brousseau, a local businessman and BC Conservative candidate in the 2009 general election. The BC Conservative leader will fly back to the Lower Mainland on Thursday afternoon.
