Conflict between women leads to hospital trips

Two altercations responded to last week by Terrace RCMP required treatment of individuals involved at Mills Memorial Hospital

The Terrace RCMP responded to approximately 105 calls for service from November 21st, 8 AM till November 25th, 8 AM. During the same time period there have been 17 people lodged in Terrace Cells. Nine of these people were lodged for public intoxication.

  • A red 2002 Honda Civic and a white 2012 Ford F550 collided at Eby St/Hwy 16 west. The Honda sustained major damage and was towed. No injuries.
  • A verbal altercation turned physical between two intoxicated women smoking in a parking lot of an apartment complex on Haugland Ave. One of the women was pushed. She fell due to her state of inebriation and suffered an injury to her head. She was transported to Mills Memorial Hospital.
  • A woman was assaulted by another woman at a house party on Walsh Ave. Police requested the assistance of BC Ambulance who transported the woman to Mill Memorial Hospital for treatment of injuries she received. The people involved were all intoxicated. Under investigation.
  • A person attempted to get a new prescription for medication by calling the Medical Clinic and claimed to be a police officer that had seized medication therefore a new prescription would be needed. Investigation determined this to be false. A new prescription was not issued.
  • A wallet containing various cards and ID was lost at McDonald’s.
  • Two women shoplifted from the Real Canadian Wholesale. Police spoke with the 36 yr and 34 yr old sisters and informed them they are banned from the store.
  • Theft from an unlocked Toyota Tundra parked on Dejong Cr. A red memory stick was stolen.
  • Theft from an unlocked blue 2013 Ford F150 parked on McRae Cr. Canadian Tire money, an ice scraper/snowbrush, a key to unlock lug nuts, and the vehicle manual were stolen.
  • Theft from a red 2005 Ford F150 parked on Eby St. A wallet and sunglasses were stolen. The cards from the wallet were found scattered on Scott Ave. Credit cards and driver’s licence are still missing.
  • Loss Prevention Officer of Walmart arrested a 42 yr old intoxicated man for shoplifting. Police arrested the man and he is held for court.
  • A rock was thrown through the front window of a residence on Queensway Dr.
  • A heavy set man was observed attempting to steal from a white Ford truck parked in behind a lot in the 3800 block of Paquette Ave. Checks were done of the area.
  • A grey 2013 Nissan Rogue was pulled over on Hwy 16 east after it was seen leaving the Northern Motor Inn. An amount of marihuana was seized from the 25 yr old passenger.
  • Possible forcible confinement of a person in the trunk of a car. Police spoke with the people involved. Investigation determined that it was an inappropriate joke.
  • A camo key and money was left on a bench of residence on Hamer Ave and turned into the detachment to be returned to its owner.
  • A woman wearing a two tone blue jacket, black jeans, toque, and carrying a large green purse with a skinny man, over 6 ft tall wearing a green rain jacket shoplifted from Mark’s Work Warehouse. Checks were done of the area.
  • Dine and dash at the Golden Star Restaurant. The man was wearing a bright colored coat and was with a woman and a large First Nation’s man.
  • A bleeding woman needing assistance at the Costa Lessa Motel. Police apprehended a 25 yr old woman under the Mental Health Act and transported her to Mills Memorial Hospital.
  • A 21 speed Huffy Tundra women’s blue mountain bike was found on the train tracks behind the 4600 block of Keith Ave. The seat is missing.
