People in Terrace can expect some changes to their their experience at the Terrace & District Aquatic Centre.
According to a City of Terrace Facebook post, the aquatic centre is adjusting its procedures to “ensure you feel comfortable in the facility, whether you’re working out or taking a dip.”
The aquatic centre is experimenting with reduced numbers of swimmers per session. The gym will accommodate 10 patrons at a time, 12 for length swims, and Friday night public swims will permit 31 patrons.
“That means more space to work out, get in your laps, or enjoy a fun evening with your family, while also enhancing your safety and the safety of your staff,” the Facebook post reads.
Now, patrons that do not bring their own equipment will need to request kick-boards and pull buoys from the front desk before they arrive so that staff can make sure equipment is properly disinfected between swim sessions. Life jackets will be available on the pool deck, but pool noodles and other equipment will usually not be available. Usage of that equipment is provided at the shift supervisor’s discretion.
