Brief power outage strikes again

Some businesses and residents in downtown Terrace and outlying areas are going through another brief power outage this afternoon.

Problems at a substation are affecting nearly 4,000 customers, BC Hydro reports.

Its outage map shows that power went off around 1:20 p.m. in parts of Thornhill and Queensway to Lakelse Lake, and areas from Greig Ave. to Scott Ave. and Kenney St. to Apsley St. in the downtown area.

The power is estimated to come back on around 3 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Power went out briefly to downtown Terrace, the Horseshoe, the Bench and Thornhill this past Thursday due to a transmission circuit failure, affecting about 9,500 people and businesses.
