Big tree falls on Terrace house

Nobody hurt during incident

Nobody was hurt when a large tree fell on a house at the corner of Clinton St. and Park Ave. in Terrace on the weekend of Jan. 3.

The Terrace Fire Department received a report about the fallen tree around 9:45 a.m. Jan. 3 and attended the scene shortly afterward, according to a written statement provided by the City of Terrace. Neighbours reported hearing a crash around midnight the night before.

Neighbours told the fire department that the house is vacant but the fire department knocked to ensure no one was inside the residence.

The tree appeared to be in a sturdy position and only one branch was touching a power line. The tree was entirely on private property.

The fire department notified BC Hydro as well as an owner or property manager of the home, before taping off the are and leaving the scene.
