Be vigilant, police warn residents

At about 3:30 PM yesterday, Nov. 8, 2011, a person noticed a suspicious blue/grey smaller car.

At about 3:30 PM yesterday, Nov. 8, 2011, a person noticed a suspicious blue/grey smaller car in the area of New Remo.

This car was driving slowly, and the people inside were taking pictures of the residences and buildings in the area. The person obtained the licence plate, and reported this activity to the police.

Terrace RCMP responded immediately. Checks were done of the immediate area, and then fanned out. A vehicle matching the description was located and checked on a road in the surrounding area.

The occupants were identified, one of them having a history of break and enter with thefts.

“The person who reported this activity to the RCMP did a great job. Charges are not being pursued in this incident, but we were able to identify the occupants of the suspect car. This is a very important step in our ongoing investigation of the door knocker and suspicious activity in Terrace. If you see anything suspicious in your neighborhood, call the Terrace RCMP or 911 immediately,” says Cpl Mike Dame of the Terrace RCMP General Investigation Unit.
