The Thornhill man already charged with aggravated assault faces new charges, including one of attempted murder arising from an incident Aug. 31.
And Terrace RCMP have released additional information into the incident which took place in the community located just east of Terrace.
Nathan Rinsma, born in 1994, now faces a charge of forcible confinement, one of using a firearm (or imitation weapon) while committing an offence, and carrying and/or possessing a firearm for the purpose of committing an offence in addition to attempted murder and the original aggravated assault charge.
Terrace RCMP at first said a woman was seriously injured the morning of Aug. 31 but now say there were two people assaulted.
The subsequent investigation resulted in search warrants being obtained for residences in Thornhill and in Usk.
"These search warrants resulted in the seizure of cash, ammunition, weapons, illicit drugs, and firearms," Terrace RCMP said in a statement Sept. 10.
An extensive search resulted in Rinsma being arrested in Usk the morning of Sept. 3. He made a court appearance that evening and another one Sept. 9.
He remains in custody with a next appearance scheduled for Oct. 4.
Terrace RCMP continue to look for more information as the investigation is ongoing.
