Caledonia Secondary School's seasonal musical is about to take to the R.E.M. Lee Theatre stage. Legally Blonde the Musical is coming to Terrace from Dec. 12-14.
Caledonia teacher Graham Wojdak is directing. It will be the 10th musical he has directed at Caledonia. The music direction is by Jacquelynne Amendt, who is the music instructor at the school.
Wojdak said people can expect costume changes, challenge scenes, catchy songs and a group dance.
"Unlike our last couple of shows, where actors typically needed very few costumes, Legally Blonde is big on costumes! Many actors play multiple roles, and most actors have 4, 5, or 6 costume changes. The lead – the actor playing Elle Woods – has a new costume in just about every scene," he shared.
"Older shows give dedicated scene change music, but modern shows like Legally Blonde typically have acting happen when the set is moving," said Wojdak. "It has been an enjoyable challenge to sort out how we get the set offstage while still supporting the story of the show."
"I hope the audience sees a group of people doing their best to entertain the community," he said. "Every year, we put all of our effort into the show, and we very much hope people enjoy their evening of entertainment."
Tickets are sold at Misty River Books and at the door. Performances begin at 8 p.m.
