Terrace Little Theatre is holding auditions for its May production of Sam Shepard's "The God of Hell" on Saturday, Feb. 8 at 11:00 a.m. They will be hosted at the McColl Playhouse, upstairs in the Merry Hallsor Green Room.

"'The God of Hell' is a full-length drama by Sam Shepard. Emma and Frank live a quiet life with their cows in the heart of Wisconsin. They don't expect anything exciting to come from taking in their friend Haynes, but when a mysterious stranger comes looking for him, this slice of American heartland is turned into a place of paranoia and fear," shared director Marianne Brørup Weston.

The roles include:

  • Emma, farmer's housewife (age 40-50);
  • Frank, a dairy farmer (age 50);
  • Haynes, a friend on the lam (age 40-60); and
  • Mr. Welch, a government agent on a mission (age 35-60).

"Four great character roles for one woman and three men. No experience is necessary – we will train you! Some of TLT’s finest actors received all their actor training on the ground," she said.

With over 30 years of directing under her belt, Weston loves the challenge of new actors because they are blank canvases having not developed any bad habits yet.
