An Emergency Warming Centre (EWC) will be open on this this weekend on Feb. 8 and 9 from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m at 'Ksan Society's Turning Points building.
"Although we face challenges in caring for our most vulnerable citizens during extreme weather, this community works well together to coordinate our response," wrote the City of Terrace.
The City is working in partnership with organizations like the 'Ksan Society to provide safe shelter during the winter. It is funded by the B.C. Ministry of Emergency Management and Climate Readiness (EMCR).
"We encourage all residents to make sure that they check on their neighbours and care well for one another to ensure that we minimize harms that come with extreme weather."
