Dear Editor,
Terrace bus transit riders are entitled to ethical service, to be safely driven to a destination by the bus driver behind the wheel - without incident. I am concerned about the safety of Terrace’s public bus service.
I would like to publicly request transit riders who have witnessed or experienced [any unethical behaviour] to file a complaint with the Ministry of Transportation, BC Transit Service, and Terrace Mayor and Council.
I also request posterboards be posted at bus shelters and on the bus, clearly visible to transit riders, displaying contact information of whom to file a complaint to for irresponsible driving. Perhaps titled: How was your ride today?
I ask [bus drivers] to be more responsible and considerate of your community. Please address these issues: stop/start speed with braking, allow a person to sit down before you start to drive away, please automatically put down the ramp at a height that enables all transit riders to get on and off with ease - without excuses, be aware of bus door opening/closing, and please be professional. To the bus drivers who are providing great service, thank you.
Susan Maroney,
Terrace, B.C.
