TERRACE band King Crow and the Ladies From Hell has advanced to the Top Five of the Radio West listening region in CBC's Searchlight contest - a nation-wide competition to find Canada's best new artist.
The band advanced from more than 100 acts in the region, and through fan-based internet voting is now in the top five - the final portion of the regional contest.
On-line voting continues from today until Thursday at midnight - the winner will be announced March 8 on CBC's Radio West and will advance to the national portion of the competition. The winner of the national competition wins $20,000 in music gear from Yamaha, a video session with CBC and an opportunity to perform at a concert in Toronto.
The band is calling on its supporters far and wide to help it advance to the national level of the competition. People can vote for the song Better Days (written by banjo player, Sam Hogarth) by clicking the following link: http://r3.ca/0bC4 .

King Crow and the Ladies From Hell recently returned from a winter tour to Alberta playing at the Prince George Coldsnap Festival and shows in Jasper, Edmonton and Calgary.
The band performs this Saturday, March 9 at the Lester Centre in Prince Rupert for Celtic Night and returns to Alberta to play a show in Canmore March 16 and the grand daddy of St. Patrick's Day shows at the venerable Ship and Anchor bar in Calgary, Alberta.
They also recently released their first demo CD called Half Sack.
