THE SUMMER Arts Festival wraps up today after 10 days of activities and events around town.
In its second year, the festival offered learning experiences at lunch time, opportunities for children and adults to try their artistic skills, buskers playing music during lunch time, arts workshops and many other activities.
Artists created new works at the Artists Boardwalk in George Little Park and their pieces were then auctioned off.
The Terrace Art Gallery hosted Misty Rivers and Waterfalls, the first juried group art show in several years with the art pieces for sale too.
Local bands came out to entertain at Concerts in the Park on Fridays and Saturday, letting audiences enjoy the sound of Boss Blues, King Crow and the Ladies From Hell, Late Night on Air and No Seeums.
Starting at 1 p.m. this afternoon, the artists, facilitaors, speakers and volunteers are invited to a closing get together with refreshments and where the Students Poster Contest award will be given out.
The art work doesn't stop with the end of the festival as everyone is invited to check out the new paint on the downtown fire hydrants along Lazelle Ave between Kalum St. and Emerson St., which were done during the festival.
As well, the Misty Rivers and Waterfalls juried group art show continues at the art gallery until July 27.
