Social Services Work program students at Northwest Community College have taken the initiative to start a bursary.

The students went to the last city council meeting and city councillor Bruce Bidgood pledged to make a donation to the Community Development fund.  This is an initiative to create a bursary for future students in the SSW program.

A number of contributors have given to the fund and Bidgood received a print, which those who donate more than $75 will get, he said.

"It really is a good cause," said Bidgood.
