Eighty-two Skeena Middle School students and staff cycled 1,131 km, burned 33,975 calories, and saved 245 kg of greenhouse gasses during this year’s Bike to School Week.

Their total distance travelled is almost equivalent to the distance separating Terrace and Kamloops at 1,065 km. Next year, participants at Skeena Middle School aim to make it all the way to Vancouver with their combined mileage.

“Just think of all those neurons fired up ready to learn in the morning,” wrote Trygve Scott in a letter to the Standard.
