More than 100 seniors gathered July 26 for a barbecue and music hosted by the Skeena Valley Seniors Society, the first of three summer events being provided by the group with the assistance of businesses and volunteers.
Seven members of the Ukulele Kitchen Party provided singalong music while the barbecue was being prepared. Also contributing to the music for the evening wss Spring Fever.
The event was held at 3111 Frank St., the Terrace base for Yellowhead Helicopters, and it will also be the location for similar events on Aug. 23 and Sept. 6.
"We will be cooking up burgers again but we welcome your dishes as well so this will be a pot luck event starting with a sing a long at 4:45 p.m. with the local ukulele folk. This will follow with live music by Spring Fever," said Skeena Valley Seniors president Diana Penner. "Tables will have puzzles and cards available as well for those who just want to come and hang out."
Activities wrap up at 7:30 p.m. on Aug. 23 and Sept. 6.
