THE LONG weekend winds down today but Riverboat Days events are far from over.

The Skeena Valley Model Railroad Open House shows off the trains from members of the model railroad association, including a scale model re-creation of the CN Skeena subdivision.

It takes place at the old CN passenger railcar at the east end of the Grand Trunk pathway from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Great Rotary Wild Duck Race drops a whole flock of plastic yellow ducks from a helicopter into the west channel of the Skeena River at 1 p.m for a race to see who reaches the finish line first at Ferry Island. There's big prizes for those who bought a ticket and chose the fastest duck. Proceeds from ticket sales go to community projects.

Take a trip into nature with the Ferry Island Interpretive Walk at 7 p.m. Meet at the Rotary Playground to take a walk with forest professionals, who will explain what's on the island, identify trees and plants and discuss the island's history and land use from the past. It's a 1.5 hour walk that's suitable for all ages.
