RIVERBOAT DAYS fun continues with new events today and the continuation of other events already underway.

Mr. Mike's Beach Blast Volleyball 11 starts at 9 a.m. in the Mr. Mike's parking lot, complete with sand for a real beach experience, and continues for two days.

Take a drive out to the airport for Hot August Nites Drag Racing, scheduled for 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and tomorrow. And a driver from Saskatchewan brings two special jet vehicles, one of which is “the meanest, greenest fastest bio-disel car in the world” to race.

The  Quick Lane Road Hockey Challenge faces off with four-on-four action at Totem Ford from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Skateboard enthusiasts compete in the 12th annual Ruins Skateboard Competition at the Skateboard park. Registration starts at noon and the contest starts at 1 p.m.

And for something mellow, there's the Day of Gospel at George Little Park from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. with a service of song, prayer, Scripture, a children's lesson and a brief meditation followed by live Christian music at the band shelter.

Events continuing from yesterday include the Chainsaw Carving Contest at Skeena Mall, the Mixed Slo-Pitch Tournament at several fields around town, the 3-on-3 Basketball Challenge at Pizza Hut and cattle sorting at the Thornhill Community Grounds.
