Northwest B.C. Indigenous bands are teaming up for a concert fundraiser in Terrace for Telegraph Creek wildfire evacuees this weekend.

Terrace rock band the Coastal Drifters organized the lineup and will be rocking out with Kitwanga’s The Brazen Harlots, and Smithers’ band The Infirmary and musician Simbiyez Wilson on August 25.

Coastal Drifters guitarist Alvin Seymour said the bands got together and decided to do one last combined concert for the summer right when the wildfires in northern B.C. started.

“We saw a lot of our friends and family being affected by it,” wrote Seymour. “Three of us in the Coastal Drifters are Tahltan, and [we] figured a good way for us to lend a hand is [by] donating all our profit from the show to those affected by the wildfires.”

Doors open at 8 p.m. at the Terrace Curling Club (3210 School Street) with music starting at 9 p.m. There’s a $10 cover fee with tickets available at the door, and all proceeds will be going to the Tahltan Fire Relief Fund.
