Terrace resident Ed McFadden celebrated his 100th birthday July 2.
The celebration was modified to accommodate pandemic precautions. Ed sat at the front steps of his son Dale McFadden’s house on Kalum Lake Dr., while friends and family congregated briefly in the driveway to sing happy birthday and pass along their best wishes.
There were several speeches, with plenty of laughs and smiles.
McFadden is a longtime Terrace resident who is originally from Mannville Alta. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force and was was stationed in Terrace during the Second World War. He witnessed the now-infamous 1944 Terrace mutiny, when Army conscripts stationed in the area mutinied upon learning they were to be deployed overseas.
