LITERACY ISN'T just about reading – it's also about lollipops.

Terrace’s Family Literacy Day saw children and their parents celebrate literacy with a number of activities at Suwilaawks Community School Jan. 28.

At the Big Brothers and Sisters display, children were asked to write and post an idea about how to contribute to the community.

Then they could pick a lollipop from a variety stuck into a peg board.

“Sometimes kids come up with the best ideas,” said program coordinator Diana Falardeau.

There were also language games, board games and book giveaways for families.
