BEFORE THE rain started washing the snow away, two girls took advantage of the white stuff to build a huge snowman.

Natasha Johnson and Lovina Sjokvist, granddaughters of Clayton and Judy Lloyd-Jones, put together an eight-foot-tall snowman during the Christmas holidays.

According to Environment Canada, by Dec. 29, there was 39 cm of snow on the ground.

December 18 noted the most snow on the ground of the month, with 50 cm.

And the month of December 2011 saw 230 mm of total precipitation here.
