MAMIE KERBY celebrated her 90th birthday with friends, families and dignitaries at the Happy Gang Centre Aug. 29.

Kerby, whose actual birthday is Aug. 17, said just about everything in her life has been beautiful – from her late husband Fred to her children, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, two of which are on their way.

And she’s not slowing down anytime soon: Kerby said she just got her driver’s licence renewed.

Maggy Ottenbreit sang the song Blueberry Hill, without a microphone, and was joined by everyone in the room to sing Happy Birthday to Kerby.

Kerby received congratulations letters from Prime Minister Stephen Harper, Governor General David Johnston, Skeena NDP MLA Robin Austin and City of Terrace mayor Dave Pernarowski.
