Mackenzie Valdez 7, decided to raise $500 for the BC Children’s Hospital during the month of July and said she would donate her hair if she met her goal.
She told everyone at her birthday that any money she received would also be included, which turned out to be $60.
Valdez reached her goal three days later and as of haircut day July 31, she had raised more than $800.
Two of her cousins were helped at the hospital and one is there now, says her mom Sabrina.
It was her first haircut since she was about four years old, said Sabrina.
