A TOTAL of $150 was raised for the Terrace Animal Shelter at the Carnaval D"Hiver organized by Ecole Jack Cook student Gabrielle Fleming.

Children and adults who came to the indoor event at the school gym took part in a cake walk, threw bean bags at a monster face in hopes of getting them into the monster's mouth, went fishing, had their faces painted and other activities at the event. They won prizes for their efforts.

There was a canteen that served popcorn, hot dogs and other goodies too.

Fleming, who took part at one of the activity stations, said the event was going well.

She hadn't yet decided whether to hold another event like this one next year.
