Firefighters hold benefit breakfast

THE TERRACE Firefighting detachment will be holding its annual pancake breakfast July 1 at the station.

THE TERRACE Firefighting detachment will be holding its annual pancake breakfast July 1 at the station.

The firefighters themselves will be cooking up a breakfast feast of pancakes, bacon, sausage and eggs.

All proceeds from the morning will be going to the BC Professional Fire Fighters Burn Fund.

Jeff Minhinnick from the Terrace Firefighter Detachment said raising money for this worthy cause is a good way to celebrate Canada day in Terrace.

“It is a great community event,” he said.

Cost will be $5 per-person with children under the age of three eating for free.

There will be fun activities available for children by way of face painting and fire truck rides as well.

The event will run from 8 a.m. to just after the noon hour.

Last year, the breakfast raised around $900,00 – a number that Minhinnick said has been steadily increasing every  year.
