Children got a chance to play and parents were provided access to information during the The Early Years Family Fair last Saturday at Skeena Junior Secondary School.

It was the 6th year for the annual fair. The idea behind the event is to promote healthy development during the early years of a child's life.

This is something event organizer, Sasa Loggin, said is vitally important as a child's brain develops the most in its first five years.

The fair was broken up into four sections – health, literacy, family programs and childcare. The different sections hosted games for children and information for parents.

Loggin said the event was a collaboration of all of the service providers in the area that work with children under the age of six.
