Nancy Dumais, Manager and ECE educator for PACES 1 and 2 child care centres along with Larisa Tarwick and Rosemarie Goodwin current trustees of the Terrace Day Care Society, recently gathered to honour and thank Gloria Mott of Kitimat, for her many years of service as an early childhood educator and in particular for her contribution to the children and families served by the Terrace Day Care Society.

Gloria completed her early childhood training at Northwest Community College (now CMC) in 1985 and has worked in many different centers in Kitimat and Terrace, including operating her own licensed family daycare.

Gloria worked at the Terrace Day Care for many years as an early childhood educator as well as taking on the role of head supervisor in the later years of that centre.

The Terrace Day Care was closed in January of this year and Gloria guided staff, children and parents through the amalgamation into the PACES 1 and PACES 2 programs.

Gloria received a bouquet of flowers and a stained glass hummingbird hanger and will continue to provide care on a part time basis at an associated centre.
