EACH YEAR the Northern Savings Credit Union disburses money to community groups and programs in each of the communities it serves.
The amount is $15,000 for each community and recipients are chosen from applications made to the credit union.
One of the groups receiving help this year is the Terrace 747 (Unicorn) Air Cadet Squadron and it received $1,500.
The squadron maintains an active program for young people, operating out of a hall at the Northwest Regional Airport.
Cadets also serve in the community and this month are helping with the Salvation Army's annual Christmas hamper campaign.
