NINETY STUDENTS from the Nass Valley, Kitimat, Hazelton and local students sat in on classes at Northwest Community College on Student for a Day yesterday, March 16.
Students, who were adult learners 16-years-old and older, were given the opportunity to choose classes, such as culinary arts, business and science lab, and to sit in and learn from an instructor in the morning.
Greenville students listened to Dr. John Krisinger talk about red blood cells in the human body, their number and how they work to transport oxygen throughout the body.
In the afternoon, students went to a mini education fair in the longhouse, where the college showcased its programs and staff were on hand to answer questions, said Irlanda Price, campus manager for Terrace and Kitimat.
Programs taking part in the mini education fair included criminology, field schools, health and human services, career and college prep, associate degrees in art and science, dorm life, access programs, tourism, mining, transmission line training and pipeline construction.
The day began with a workshop on financial aid.
