Barbecue revenue supports charity

M & M Meats raised just over $1.55 million across the country from its annual charity barbecue in support of the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of Canada.

M & M Meats raised just over $1.55 million across the country from its annual charity barbecue in support of the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of Canada.

The event was held May 7 and, in Terrace, local resident Jim Owen was the volunteer barbecue chef.

It’s our national charity,” explained Terrace franchisee Glen Kelly of the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of Canada.

The charity BBQ day is the 23rd annual one.

To date, $21.5 million has been raised.
