Terrace's Jared Stephens is off to a strong start with the Vancouver Island University (VIU) Mariner's soccer team
Stephens managed to score two of the three goals during the team's season opener where it beat out Capilano University 3-1.
Stephens is in his fourth year at VIU, and is working towards a bachelor of science degree.
Last season Stephens was the MVP at the BCCAA Provincial Championships, best forward at the Provincial Championships and a BCCAA league all-star.
The VIU Mariners soccer team is currently ranked number one in Canada.
