The Terrace Bluebacks participated in its last swim meet of the season in Prince Rupert June 3 to 5.

The Bluebacks came in fourth overall with the Prince Rupert Rapids taking the first place finish.

However, with 80 per cent best times overall for the 10 swimmers from Terrace, head coach Nesia Bare is more than happy with her team’s performance.

“The weekend was fantastic,” Bare said.

The team had three swimmers win medals as Ainslie Hollett took home a silver, and Brittney Alfred and Caleb McGrath Burke both secured a bronze.

Bare also noted the efforts of Angelina Filtziakis,  Pariss Tinsley and Ainslie Hollett, all of who swam 100 per cent best times for every event they partook in – something she said is a huge accomplishment.

This  wraps up the season for the Terrace swim club as well as Bare’s first season as head coach.

“The season was great, we stared off with a small amount of kids and then we were up to 43,” Bare said. “We did fantastic.”

She said she is very pleased with the season and plans to be back in the fall hopefully to an even larger membership.
