Wanted: Chinese New Year decorations

For some inexplicable reason big box stores and even local merchants in Terrace are not selling these decorations this year.

Dear Sir:

As we all know Chinese New Year is one of the biggest celebrations in the world and this year 2012 is an exceptional one being the Year of the Dragon.

While my partner and I are of native heritage we are both Dragons and we wanted to put up decorations to celebrate the Chinese New Year.

For some inexplicable reason big box stores and even local merchants in Terrace are not selling these decorations this year.

We buy decorations for Christmas, Easter, Halloween and January 1 New Year and contribute to the local economy and the profits of these retailers. They want us to shop local but then they discriminate on the basis of profit.

Surely there are enough local Chinese and non-Chinese who celebrate this occasion to make it worth carrying a few related items.

What is the matter with this town? Is it open for business for everyone or just those persons that spend their money on the “right” merchandise? Gung Hai Fat Choy!
