Mrs. Winifred Lila Grindler passed away peacefully at Pleasant Valley Manor in Armstrong on March 20, 2007 at the age of 94 years.

Mrs. Grindler was born at Juneau, Alaska on March 15, 1913 and lived with her family in Winnipeg for 14 years. The family moved to the Oliver/Osoyoos area in the south Okanagan region for a number of years, then to Terrace for 16 years, returning to Osoyoos to retire. Mrs. Grindler came to Armstrong in 2002. She was always active in the Anglican church and was involved with the O.O.R.P. and enjoyed golf, bridge and knitting.

She will be lovingly remembered by family, one son and two daughters, Michael (Voni) of Richmond, Maureen Karran of Armstrong and Denise Coulter (Martin) of Terrace; seven grandchildren Brad (Cathie), Michelle (Blake), Cheryl, Greg (Cindy), Scott (Sheri), Shawn and Jodi; sixteen great grandchildren, Amber (Bruce), Lee (Monica), Marisa, Shelby, Stevie, Jack, Ben, Jacob, Zachary, Dylan, Jason, Jesse, Jonah, Brandon, Justin and Dylan; four great great-grandchildren Evan, Natalia, Colter and Keegan. One sister and one brother also survive, Dorothy Bobbitt of Penticton and Harold King of Oliver.

Winifred was predeceased by her husband Herbert in 1994, two brothers and one sister, Marjorie, Ronald and Geoffrey, also two sons-in-law Gordie Coulter and Dave Karran.

A memorial service was held at St. James Anglican Church, Armstrong, B.C. on Saturday, March 24, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. Reverend Cory Rundell officiating. Cremation.

Friends wishing to, may make memorial contributions to the Pleasant Valley Manor, in Armstrong, B.C. A service will be held in Osoyoos at a later date.
