Such...is Life. After 91 years of trials and tribulations Willy said his last goodbyes to the world on February 22, 2015 at Mills Memorial Hospital in Terrace, BC.

After his family immigrated from Germany to Canada in 1954 the Schneider family planted their roots in Terrace. Willy worked for SunLife for the next 40 years, introducing his son-in-law Lyle Harvey to the financial business. Over the next 50 years in Terrace, Willy was a proud member of the Terrace Rotary Club (25 years), Railroad Club, Golf Course, and legion as well as a board member of the Terrace Public Library. At 84, Willy penned his autobiography, “Such...is Life” and shortly after the publication of his book he lost his beloved wife Gisela. During the next seven years Willy lived his life to the fullest which included trips to Germany and Russia, the wedding of his youngest granddaughter Sabrena (Brent), a 60/90 Birthday celebration for his daughter Barb and himself at the Terrace Golf Course and the birth of his great-grandson Parker from his eldest granddaughter Jill (Terry).

Willy could be seen around town on a daily basis walking his beloved dog Cappie, working out at the gym (bench pressing 95 lbs x 5), grocery shopping, men’s night dinner at the golf course or having a cocktail at some of his favourite local watering holes.

In keeping with Willy’s wishes, the family has scattered his ashes in a private ceremony. He is remembered and survived by his daughter Barb Harvey (Lyle), granddaughter Jill Schick (Terry) and great-grandson Parker, and granddaughter Sabrena Dawe (Brent). A Celebration of Life will be held on May 18, 2015 at the Terrace Golf Course. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Terrace Public Library or the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
