Walter Young Raedeke was born on September 15, 1952 and passed away suddenly on the 21st of March 2016 in Edmonton. He had just returned from a two week vacation in Cuba where he met his sweetie for the final week. His life ended happy and in love!

Wally lived and worked in the Terrace area for several years in the 1990s and early 2000s. He was an avid Scrabble player - founding member and a champion - He was also a contractor, a volunteer with several organizations as well as an active member of the Terrace community choir.

His booming laughter often rattled the buildings he was in and it was infectious! We will certainly miss him and his sense of humour.

A celebration of life was held in Edmonton April10th for his co-workers, his cigar buddies, the Riverdale Housing Co-operative people, along with his family and friends.

Cremation took place in Edmonton as per his wishes. His ashes will be scattered at a later date.

Wally is survived by his sister Wendy (Keith Ferlin- Summerland), Laurie (Ted Ramsey of Thornhill), Elizabeth (Tony Leonard of Vancouver), Melanie Raedeke of Kamloops and one brother Grant (Barb) of Terrace, four nephews, six nieces and numerous grand nieces and nephews.

Wally was predeceased by his mother and father in 2007 and a brother Derek in 2009.

Feel free to pass along your condolences to his family. Wally was a very private person that touched many people's lives. We will miss his smile and his sense of humour.
