It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Siegi Kriegl on April 9, 2017.

Siegi was born in Germany on June 22, 1951 to Hildegarde and Emil Siegfried Kriegl. He arrived in Terrace at the age of 9. Following high school graduation he attended UVic where he was a member of their football team. When he returned to Terrace he worked for School District 82 and seasonally with DFO during the summer months. He decided to make a career change and became a full time fishery officer in 1979 starting in Prince Rupert then to Chilliwack, Whitehorse and back to Prince Rupert in 1997 where he finished his career with DFO as the Area Director for the North Coast Division in 2009.

He didn’t stay retired for long as in Feb. 2010 he created his own consulting company, Siegi Consulting. He began working with the Kitsumkalum First Nation and was still there at the time of his passing.

He leaves to mourn his wife of 38 years, Marjan, daughters Nicole, Heidi (Mikko), grandson Udo, brothers Wolfgang (Corrine), Richard (Melita) and relatives and friends.

There is no service by request.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation greatly appreciated.
