Marjorie Elizabeth Lindsay

May 31, 1936 - March 13, 2007

It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of our loving mother, Marjorie Elizabeth Lindsay. Mom passed away at the young age of 70. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Harold, on March 2, 1999.

Marjorie will be sadly missed by her three children: Wanda (Allan) Tutt, now residing in Barrie, ON; Barbara (Brent) Kluss and Fred Lindsay, both still in Terrace, B.C.; her six grandchildren: Tammy, Steve, Chad, Todd, Linzie, Nicole and Robyn and her 3 great grandchildren: Brandon, Kaley and Seth. All say “Goodbye Grandma...we will miss you very, very much!” Also missing Marjorie are her 3 sisters: Marlene, Charlotte and Sherri and her two brothers Neil and Dan.

Marjorie was born in Smithers during the flood of 1936. A true beauty, she was crowned Terrace’s May Queen in 1949. As the result of an unfortunate accident, she spent much of her time in the hospital during her reign.

Marjorie lived a simple life. She loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing. She loved to play cards with her family and friends. She demonstrated a real sense of compassion toward many needy causes. Although Marj had been outgoing with a real zest for life, she had to slow down over the last few years due to her weakening heart condition.

Those who didn’t know Marj may be familiar with Thomas Street, which was named after her father, Fred Thomas, one of Terrace’s early pioneers.

Terrace has lost their beloved Marjorie. She will be dearly missed by family and friends.

We would like to thank the nursing staff at Mills Memorial Hospital, who took excellent care of our mother, when repeatedly admitted to the hospital over the past few years. She said, “Everyone was very kind.” We would also like to thank Dr. Redpath, for his time, care and understanding; Sandy, Dr. Redpath’s nurse, who was always so kind; and last but not least, Denise and her wonderful staff at Save-On-Food’s pharmacy for their help and guidance. Also, friends and family, thank you so much.

The family asks that any donations please be made to R.E.M.Lee Foundation.
